Rural road reconstruction is a key target for Kenya’s Government in its plan to develop the country economically. Redeveloping the road will connect the towns of the Lower Eastern Region at the Kibwezi junction with the country’s most important highway, the A109 route running from Kenya’s port of Mombasa to the capital Nairobi. The new route will also provide a better connection to the highway running to the Somalian border.
