Israel's major road project

Plans are now in hand in Israel for a US$721.6 million project to widen and upgrade the Tel Aviv-Jerusalem road.

Plans are now in hand in Israel for a US$721.6 million project to widen and upgrade the Tel Aviv-Jerusalem road. The project has been approved by a ministerial committee. The work involves widening both sides of the road to three lanes and building two 800m long bridges and two 650m long tunnels. In addition, a wildlife bridge will also be built as part of the project.

    A new US$307.5 million highway project is now underway in Abu Dhabi, with completion expected in the second quarter of 2020. The project involves building a new road link from Umm Lafina and the Al Reem islands to the Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Road. The work is being split into two separate contracts. One contract involves the construction of a 6.5km road connection from Al Reem Island and traversing Umm Lafina Island. This section will feature three lanes in either direction, as well as three bridges
