Innovative bridge planned for Brunei

A feasibility study is now in hand for a 10km bridge in Brunei to link Temburong with Brunei-Muara. Ove Arup & Partners has been awarded the contract for the bridge study, a deal worth some US$2.1 million that is expected to take 18 months to complete.

A feasibility study is now in hand for a 10km bridge in Brunei to link Temburong with Brunei-Muara. Ove 1419 Arup & Partners has been awarded the contract for the bridge study, a deal worth some US$2.1 million that is expected to take 18 months to complete. When complete the 10km bridge will form part of the 30km road between Temburong and Brunei-Muara. A cost estimate for the 10km bridge and the entire 30km road connection has yet to be revealed however.

    4782 Femern, the company charged with building what will be the world’s longest submerged tunnel, has prequalified companies for consulting work.

    The companies will be able to tender for two framework agreements, one for client consulting services and the other for technical in-house consulting services.

    Femern is responsible for building the 18km Fehmarnbelt Fixed Link immersed tunnel between Rødbyhavn in Denmark and Puttgarden in Germany. The estimated cost has increased over the past several years to reach around €7.4 billion.
