A major toll road development programme in Indonesia will see nearly 70km of new links opening by 2023. The programme is worth US$2.99 billion and has been pushed forward by Jakarta Tollroad Development (JTD). Around 50% of the planned links are already complete.

The planned work would see the construction of around 800km of roads, with the programme having been set out by the Indian body, National Highways & Infrastructure Development (NHIDCL).     Three toll road projects are being planned in Indonesia. Financing for the projects is being provided through the Indonesia Infrastructure Guarantee. In all, the three projects are worth a total of US$2.17 billion. The toll roads are from Tebing Tinggi to Parapat, from Cileunyi-Sumedang to Dawuan and from Serang to Panimbang. The contracts are expected to be signed in March 2017.

    Financing looks to have been secured for major tolled highway projects in Indonesia. These highways are the 129km Pekan Baru-Dumai route, which forms part of the Trans-Sumatra highway, the 60.5km Cileunyi-Sumedang-Dawuan (Cisumwadu) road and the 39km Manado-Bitung route.
