Indonesia toll roads development programme

A major toll road development programme in Indonesia will see nearly 70km of new links opening by 2023. The programme is worth US$2.99 billion and has been pushed forward by Jakarta Tollroad Development (JTD). Around 50% of the planned links are already complete.

  • Indonesia’s new toll bridge project

    A new tolled bridge link is planned for Indonesia’s East Kalimantan. The tender process is opening for the North Penajam Paser-Balikpapan toll bridge project. Building the bridge is expected to cost in the order of US$1.02 billion. The structure and the road connections needed will be around 7.35km long. Building the bridge will cut journey times between Balikpapan and North Panajam from as much as 120 minutes at present to just 10 minutes when the structure is complete.

    Ferrovial has lost control of the 407 International highway in Canada, one of the Spanish group's star assets. The Supreme Court in the province of Ontario has ruled in favour of co-shareholder pension fund Canada Pension Plan Investment Board to buy another stake - 10.01% - in the highway.     Morocco’s road network is being expanded and developed significantly. This is benefiting from an increased budget for transportation infrastructure from the Moroccan Government. The country expects to spend US$2.99 billion on developing its road network during the 2018-2021 time period, reaching a figure of $747.5 million/year. This is a notable increase from the $694.1 million/year spent during the 2012-2017 period and even more so from the $533.9 million/year spent in the 2008-2011 period.
