Indonesia will offer a series of toll road projects to tender under the PPP model. The six toll road projects being offered will feature a total value of US$5.3 billion. The projects are being offered by Indonesia's Ministry of Public Works and Housing.

This forms part of a plan to help boost the country’s economy once the danger from the current pandemic has passed its worst. Five private toll roads will be amongst the six projects being offered.

One of the five projects will be for the toll road connecting Semarang Port and Central Java's provincial capital. Another is for the Patimban toll road, while yet another is for the 32km toll road between Semanan and Balaraja

Two other toll road projects are for the 61.5km route connecting West Karawang and South Sentul and the elevated route from Cikunir to Ulujami, which will be constructed on top of the Jakarta Outer Ring Road (JORR).

The sixth project will be for the road links and bridge connections between Batam Island and the smaller islands in its immediate vicinity, such as Bintan Island. Batam Island lies just to the south of Singapore.

The first of the toll road tenders will be opening July 2020. All six of the toll road tenders should have opened for bids by December 2020.
