Indian highway routes being expanded

India is expanding its network of highway routes.

India is pushing ahead with its massive programme of highway expansion. Further project moves are now being seen, with new projects being announced for Karnataka State.

In all 13 projects are planned for the north of Karnataka State alone. The work will be carried out to 847km of roads. The construction work is worth a total of nearly US$2.9 billion. The projects have been announced by India’s Ministry for Road Transport & Highways.
