Indian highway deals awarded

Two important highway projects have been awarded in Rajasthan State.

Work on two important road projects in India’s Rajasthan State will commence in due course. The projects were awarded by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to local contractor HG Infra Engineering (HGIEL). In total, the two projects are worth US$284 million.

Both projects are for sections of the NH-148N route, which will connect India’s capital, Delhi, with Vadodora in Gujarat State. One of the projects is for a 33km section between Baonli and Jhalai, which is worth $122 million and is expected to take two years to complete. The other project is worth $162 million and is for a 45.6km stretch of the NH-148N route running from Mui, with the construction work also expected to take two years to carry out.

The two sections of highway will be constructed with four lanes in either direction. The contracts will be carried out under the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) format.

    Work on two major highway projects are now commencing in Kenya. One project will improve the road connection between Kenya’s capital Nairobi, with its premier port of Mombasa.     India’s Uttar Pradesh State has awarded a consultancy contract for two expressway projects. The two new routes are for the 150km Prayag Link Expressway and the 88.5km Gorakhpur Link Expressway.
