India highway works planned

Key highway works are being planned in India.

An important highway contract has been won in India. The package of works was awarded by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).

This engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) project will be carried out by the Dilip Buildcon-Hindustan Construction Company (HCC) joint venture. The deal is worth US$256.7 million.

The HCC joint venture has to carry out the work in four years. The work involves building a 22km road linking the Manihari bypass in Bihar State to the Sahibganj bypass in Jharkhand.

The contract is for the construction of the NH-133B connection. The work includes building a 6km bridge spanning the Ganga river as part of 16km of new road. The work also includes building a 6km bypass and widening a section of the NH-131A to four lanes.
