India highway contract awarded

A new highway contract will be carried out in India by Welspun Sattanathapuram Nagapattinam Road (WSNRPL). The firm is a subsidiary of Welspun Enterprises and will work on the US$271 million project to upgrade the route connecting Sattanathapuram with Nagapattinam.

A new highway contract will be carried out in India by Welspun Sattanathapuram Nagapattinam Road (WSNRPL). The firm is a subsidiary of Welspun Enterprises and will work on the US$271 million project to upgrade the route connecting Sattanathapuram with Nagapattinam. The NH-45A route will be widened so that it has two lanes in either direction, with the work due for completion in two years time. The deal was awarded by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).

The highways are located in Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal and Gujarat and the work involves widening and improving the existing NH34 in West Bengal as well as widening a 123km section of the link from Jetpur-Somnath in Gujarat.
