STRABAG is to upgrade a road link in Hungary

Austrian firm STRABAG has been awarded a €72 million package of works for a bypass project in Hungary. The work will be carried out by STRABAG’s Hungarian subsidiary.

The project is for a 7.5km bypass around the city of Veszprém and is due for completion in 2023. The project is planned to be carried out in two phases. The first phase is expected to be complete by December 2021, with the second ready for traffic in early 2023.

The work involves upgrading existing road sections and increasing the load capacity of the lanes. Widening work will see the route being upgraded to dual carriageway status with two lanes in either direction and a central reservation.
