Three highway projects are being planned in China’s Yunnan Province. In addition, a major trunk road will also be upgraded and extended.

The work is expected to cost US$9.55 billion in all. This will improve transport connections in Yunnan Province, which lies in South West China and has borders with Vietnam, Laos and Myanmar.

A new 99.5km highway will link Xishuangbanna with Pu'er City, with the work expected to cost $2.4 billion.

Building a 90.1km highway between Ninglang Yi Autonomous County and Lijiang City has an estimated price tag of $409 million.

Some $3.27 billion will be required to construct a 128.5km highway connecting Wenshan City with Malipo County.

The 33km trunk road connecting Wenshan City with Yanshan County will be improved and extended at a cost of $662 million.
