Ghana building three new bridges

Plans are being drawn up in Ghana for the construction of three new bridges in the north of the country. In all the construction work will cost US$100 million and is being carried out in Ghana’s Northern Region. Two bridges will span the tributary of the Volta River, the White Volta, and will be built at Daboya and Yapeim close to the northern city of Tamale. The third bridge will be constructed at Buipe and will span another tributary of the Volta River, the Black Volta.

Plans are being drawn up in Ghana for the construction of three new bridges in the north of the country.     In Ecuador plans are being drawn up for a new bridge connecting Duran with the port city of Guayaquil. The bridge will span the Guayas River and is expected to cost US$800 million to build. The project had been proposed by the former administration but stalled and has now been revived by the current administration. The link would provide a new connection for Highway 40, cutting journey times considerably. The planned location for the new bridge has not so far been clarified.
