Germany A7 Autobahn route benefiting from widening

Widening work is underway on the A7 Autobahn stretch in Germany’s Schleswig-Holstein area. The project to upgrade the 65km stretch of the route should be complete towards the end of 2018. However there is concern over the safety of the section being widened as the number of crashes grew from 740 in 2016 to 1,060 in 2017.

    Work is starting shortly on rebuilding a stretch of Toronto’s FG Gardiner Expressway. The US$248 million project to upgrade section 1 of the route will be handled by the Aecon Group. Work will start in the third quarter of 2018 and should be finished by the end of 2020.     Nicaragua is continuing to develop its highway network, this time with a major project planned for the capital, Managua. A loan worth close to US$107.5 million from the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) is to help pay for the project.
