German tunnel project

The project to build the Riederwaldtunnel highway tunnel in Germany is now likely to cost €477 million. The project was originally expected to cost €322 million. The tunnel will stretch 1.1km and will provide a connection between the A66 and A661 routes. Construction work on the tunnel, located near the city of Frankfurt, is expected to commence in 2020.

The work is expected to cost in the region of C$500 million (US$491 million) to carry out. The work should commence in 2017 once the necessary approvals have been given and the construction would then require an estimated 36 months.
