German highway tunnel project

The project to build the Riederwaldtunnel highway tunnel in Germany is now likely to cost €477 million. The project was originally expected to cost €322 million. The tunnel will stretch 1.1km and will provide a connection between the A66 and A661 routes. Construction work on the tunnel, located near the city of Frankfurt, is expected to commence in 2020.

The new route will provide an improved road connection for Yangon International Airport to the city’s industrial area, Yangon Jetty and the Thilawa Special Economic Zone.
