Gabon toll road proposed

A new toll road is being proposed for Gabon.

A new toll road project is being proposed for Gabon. The intended route runs around Léon Mba Libreville International Airport.

The aim of the project is to cut congestion route is to reduce congestion on the existing road from Libreville to Akanda at peak periods. Traffic levels can be heavy on the route at present, with delays a common occurrence.

The project was proposed previously by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure but then stalled. Should the plans go ahead, this would be Gabon’s first toll road.
