Under the $2 billion plus project, a six-lane bridge would be constructed from Detroit to Windsor. Meanwhile, US Democrat Michigan Congressman Gary Peters unveiled a new bill that would approve financing of the US Customs and Border Protection customs plaza's construction. The customs plaza would be built at a planned new Detroit River crossing and the bill is targeted to clear the way for the construction of the New International Trade Crossing.
