Eurovia wins US road contracts in North Carolina

Eurovia has won two major road contracts in the US worth a total of US$480 million. A subsidiary of the French company Vinci Construction, Eurovia will work on design-and-build contracts that will help improve two road corridors in North Carolina. 3281 Eurovia has won two major road contracts in the US worth a total of US$480 million. A subsidiary of the French company 3085 Vinci Construction, Eurovia will work on design-and-build contracts that will help improve two road corridors in North Carolina.


Eurovia’s work on I-485 in Charlotte involves adding a 26km express toll lane in each direction as well as a free high-occupancy-vehicle lane. The project aims to improve traffic conditions on the highway, which is used by 146,000 vehicles/day and suffers severe congestion at peak periods, adding to delays for drivers. The route runs around the city of Charlotte, connecting with I-85 and I-77 as they pass through the city, as well as a number of other state routes.

Eurovia has also won a contract in Winston-Salem in Forsyth County, with the work including widening a 4km section of road to six lanes.

Work on both projects is due to for completion in 2022.
