€802.65mn Vladivostok ring road design taking shape

The firm tasked with drawing up a ‘design concept’ for a ring road for the far eastern port city of Vladivostok say their pre-project report research will be completed in December 2013. The firm tasked with drawing up a ‘design concept’ for a ring road for the far eastern port city of Vladivostok say their pre-project report research will be completed in December 2013.

Giprostroymost St. Petersburg is working within a plan for a 22km long ring road expected to cost around €802.65 million (RUB35 billion). The project cost is likely to increase considerably if overwater construction is deemed necessary. Vladivostok city authorities expect support from the federal budget. If the national government fails to sponsor the project, foreign investment may be raised through concession agreements.

    Ukraine’s Shulgin State Road Research Institute (DNDI) said US$32.65billion (UAH 264bn) needs to be spent on the country’s roads from 2013-2018. Within the overall figure, DNDI said US$13.22billion (UAH 108.3bn) should be allocated on maintenance and current repair, US$11.83billion (UAH 96.89bn) on construction and reconstruction of 2,200km of highways, and US$2.35billion (UAH 19.27bn) on overhaul.
