Ecuador roadworks to be funded by US$367mn Chinese loan

The Ministry of Transport and Public Works in Ecuador (MTOP) has announced that a Chinese loan of US$367 million will fund the restoration of the Catamayo-Gonzanama-Sozoranga-Macara and Celica-Cruzpamba-Y del Muerto roads.
Uruguay’s Ministry of Transport and Public Works (MOTP) has recently presented proposals to the private sector on the modernisation and maintenance of four major national roads (26, 14, 55 and 20) over a ten-year period. A US$550 million government fund, known as Fondo Vial, will pay for the works, which will make Uruguay a real communications hub in the region, especially in light of a future deep water port. The national budget will remain unaffected.
Loans from China will help pay for new road projects in Ethiopia. Two loans worth a total of US$170 million are being provided by the Export-Import Bank of China. One road project loan will be worth $120 million and the other worth $50 million. The country is seeing its transport network being revitalised with a series of projects that are intended to help develop its future economic growth.
From its 2014 budget, the Indonesian government has allocated US$7.01 billion (IDR 74.90 trillion) to the Ministry of Public Works and $3.6 billion (IDR 39.2 trillion) to the Ministry of Transportation to develop national connectivity through road construction.
The move, announced by President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, will see road transport capacity increased by 3,854.3km in Papua; East Nusa Tenggara; West Nusa Tenggara; Sulawsi; Kalimantan; Bali; Java; and Sumatera. The government will also maintain 3
