Ecuador roadworks to be funded by US$367mn Chinese loan
The Ministry of Transport and Public Works in Ecuador (MTOP) has announced that a Chinese loan of US$367 million will fund the restoration of the Catamayo-Gonzanama-Sozoranga-Macara and Celica-Cruzpamba-Y del Muerto roads.

The Ministry of Transport and Public Works in Ecuador (MTOP) has announced that a Chinese loan of US$367 million will fund the restoration of the Catamayo-Gonzanama-Sozoranga-Macara and Celica-Cruzpamba-Y del Muerto roads.
Two major infrastructure projects in Bangladesh are experiencing rather different fates at present. A lack of suitable funding has resulted in the US$705 million Karnaphuli river tunnel project coming to a grinding halt. However the $1.53 billion contract for the Dhaka to Ashulia highway has now been awarded to the Chinese firm, China National Machinery Import and Export Corp (CMC). Vietnam's Transport Ministry is well on track with its plans for the design and construction of the Danang-Quang Ngai Expressway. This 139km highway will link Tuy Loan Town in Hoa Vang District of Danang and the west side of Quang Ngai City.
Two key highway projects in Italy are exhibiting good progress at present. Construction work on the new Brescia-Milan highway link is now more than 50% complete.
