Ecuador roadworks to be funded by US$367mn Chinese loan
The Ministry of Transport and Public Works in Ecuador (MTOP) has announced that a Chinese loan of US$367 million will fund the restoration of the Catamayo-Gonzanama-Sozoranga-Macara and Celica-Cruzpamba-Y del Muerto roads.

The Ministry of Transport and Public Works in Ecuador (MTOP) has announced that a Chinese loan of US$367 million will fund the restoration of the Catamayo-Gonzanama-Sozoranga-Macara and Celica-Cruzpamba-Y del Muerto roads.
A new highway in Senegal will connect the cities of Touba and Thiès. Construction work for the 113km highway is being financed by China. This being supplied under a 25 year loan in a package worth some US$704.86 million. The tolled highway is being built by China Road and Bridge Corporation). Work is due to commence shortly, with the construction phase expected to last 45 months. The Chhattisgarh government in India will receive a US$300 million loan from the Philippines-based Asian Development Bank (ADB) for upgrading more than 900km of roads by 2017. The project will include works like building new sections, expanding roads to accommodate a two-lane system as well as the construction and strengthening of culverts and bridges. The state will also contribute over $128 million for a total project investment cost of $428.10 million.
