Canadian transport engineering firm 2698 Delcan has accepted an offer to join North American engineering giants 3220 Parsons.

In an open email letter to Delcan clients, company CEO Jim Kerr said, “Following many months of consideration and detailed strategic discussions, our Board and shareholders have embraced this offer. We have now joined one of the premier professional engineering companies in the world.

“Parsons is a global firm serving more than 2,000 projects through more than 100 offices around the world. At 14,800 strong, Parsons has been active on most major transportation projects, including participation as equity partners in Public Private Partnership ventures. This global expertise can now be tapped as a solution to your program challenges, with staff from Delcan maintaining their intimate knowledge of your local market needs and expectations.”

In his email letter, Kerr notes how Delcan and Parsons “grew from the same roots, providing us with a shared history, like values and a compatible culture”. He continued, “You can expect to receive the same exceptional personal service you have always received from Delcan, but now it will be accompanied by expanded service offerings, a deeper pool of innovative professional resources, and a larger network of localized offices. In fact, Delcan will now be able to enhance its service to you through Alternative Project Delivery methods by providing equity contributions and construction services to the design, build, operations and maintenance aspects.”

Kerr added that Delcan's expertise in roads and highways; bridge and tunnel; water and environmental sustainability; Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS); rail and transit, quality management oversight; as well as toll and freight markets will continue to move Parsons toward being the “top transportation engineering firm in the world”.
