Czech road project tenders opening

A series of major road projects are being offered for tender in the Czech Republic. The eight projects will cost in excess of €384 million. Further road project tenders will open in a few months. The work is needed as the Czech Republic scores poorly in terms of how many motorway link it has in comparison with many of its neighbours. A series of major road projects are being offered for tender in the Czech Republic. The eight projects will cost in excess of €384 million. Further road project tenders will open in a few months. The work is needed as the Czech Republic scores poorly in terms of how many motorway link it has in comparison with many of its neighbours. One of the projects being planned is for a 13km motorway section connecting Belotin with Novy Jicin. Another major project is for the Brno to Zabovresky ring road, one is for upgrades to a 10km stretch of the D1 route between Devet Krizu and Ostrovacice and other is for the link connecting Humpolec with Vetrny and Jenikov.

    Mott MacDonald has been appointed by the Road and Motorway Directorate of the Czech Republic to design sections of the R35 and R55 expressways. R35 connects the Bohemia and Moravia regions and runs parallel to the D1 motorway, the longest in the country. Mott MacDonald will design a 5.8km section of the expressway, including three bridges, two interchanges, two roundabouts, four overpasses and one railway viaduct.     The Egyptian Government is opening the tender process for the Rod el Farag highway in July 2012. The highway project is expected to cost US$1 billion to construct and will be carried out in two stages. One section will run from Alexandria Desert Road to the Cairo Ring Road. Meanwhile the second section will run from the Cairo Ring Road to the eastern side of the Nile-Shoubra area and the Al Ismailia Canal Road.
