Croatia digs deep to finance River Sava bridge into Bosnia
Croatia is to pay €70 million as its share for a bridge across the River Sava near Gradiska, in Republika Srpska, part of Bosnia-Herzegovina.
A year ago, the European Commission set aside a €6.8 million grant for construction of the bridge.

Croatia is to pay €70 million as its share for a bridge across the River Sava near Gradiska, in Republika Srpska, part of Bosnia-Herzegovina.
A year ago, the European Commission set aside a €6.8 million grant for construction of the bridge.
Bosnia and Croatia are looking to discuss a new highway construction project to link the two countries. The Adriatic-Ionic section of the Corridor VC motorway looks likely to pass through Bosnia. The plan is to build a total of 110km of roads, out of the planned 336km on the Corridor VC, by 2012.
The Government of Federal Bosnia & Herzegovina plans to invest e5.5 billion in building roads, highways and new energy projects.
To achieve this programme a new consortium will be set-up to secure part of the necessary capital, while part will be financed by strategic partners. The authorities are also working on plans for construction of the Corridor 5c highway.
The European Investment Bank (EIB) has approved two loans worth €85 million for Croatia's road infrastructure. The first part of the loan is worth €60 million and will be used for construction of the Corridor Vc highway. The deal was signed between the EIB and Croatian motorways company Hrvatske Autoceste (HAC). The loan will finance 50% of the construction of the Corridor Vc highway. This includes a 12.5km section of the highway along the southern and northern part of the border with Bosnia and Herzegovina
Bosnia's highway company Autoceste Federacije BiH will invest ?500 million in the construction of the Corridor Vc road. The European Investment Bank (EIB) will provide a loan of ?166 million to part finance the project.
