Construction commencing on Algerian highway

A consortium comprising four contractors is carrying out construction of Algeria’s new Tizi-Hacine road link. The 18km road project in Mascara Province is costing US$205.34 million to build. A consortium comprising four contractors is carrying out construction of Algeria’s new Tizi-Hacine road link. The 18km road project in Mascara Province is costing US$205.34 million to build. The project is for the second part of the highway linking Mascara to the East-West motorway. The consortium comprises four Spanish-Algerian companies including Sarl Benzamia, Irrigout, CHM and LIC. Meanwhile work on the 25km stretch of road linking Hacine to the East-West highway is also commencing. This work is to be carried out by a consortium made up of four Chinese-Algerian companies, including Shan Dong Luqioad, Seror, Sntpo and SNC-Mezoughi et fils. Overall, the Mascara highway project is due to be completed in 24 months.

    The contract for a major highway project in Algeria worth US$242.3 million has been awarded to a consortium. The work involves building a 31km urban highway connecting the port of Skikda to the country’s East-West highway.     Work is underway in Tunisia on the westbound Highway from capital Tunis towards the Algerian border.
