A consortium comprising contracting companies 2296 Skanska and 5775 Pöyry will construct a new stretch of road in Finland. The two firms will work together to build the southern ring road for the city of Lahti. The project was awarded by the Finnish Transport Agency to the VALTARI consortium, established by Skanska Infra and Pöyry Finland. This was one of four consortia that tendered for project under the alliance model.

Using the alliance model, client, designers and contractors work together, with all parties responsible for project design and construction. The partners jointly agree target costs for the project, share the risks and opportunities, form a joint organisation and work in the same premises.

The project will includes the construction of interchanges, tunnels and 12 bridges and forms part of a larger scheme to develop the Lahti southern ring road.
