Plans are being drawn up in Colombia for a number of new tertiary roads in Valle del Cauca Department. A new highway will be built in Valle del Cauca department, while a new road will improve connections between Mulalo and Loboguerrero.
A series of key road projects in Venezuela have fallen victim to the country’s overall financial paralysis, a result of its plummeting economy and its disastrous political climate. Insufficient finances have seen work to construct the La Verota-Kempis, Circunvalacion Sur-Caracas and Caracas-La Guaira highways now being stalled for two years.
Plans are being crawn up for a new bridge spanning the Paraguay River that will link Brazil with Paraguay. Final approvals for the project have still to be given. The bridge will connect Brazil’s Matto Grosso do Sul State with Paraguay’s Carmelo Peralta area. Once the 500m-long bridge is complete it will form part of a much wider transport link for a new highway connecting Brazil with Chilean ports and also running through Argentina and Paraguay.
