Plans are being drawn up in Colombia for a number of new tertiary roads in Valle del Cauca Department. A new highway will be built in Valle del Cauca department, while a new road will improve connections between Mulalo and Loboguerrero.
Colombia’s capital Bogota looks set to gain from key road projects, with te country’s National Infrastructure Agency (ANI) unveiling detailed plans for upcoming works. Plans are being worked on for the widening of the 53km road linking Los Andes and Cajica with the construction of an extra lane. This is a US$$156.56 million project and will be funded by private sources. The pre-feasibility study for the Autopista Norte road extension has already passed the approval stage and this project will also be funded
The tendering process is due to commence for a major new highway project in Bangladesh. The 218km highway is intended to improve transport connections between Dhaka and Chittagong and is expected to cost close to US$2.3 billion. The route will be tolled and will have seven interchanges, while it will run alongside the existing highway. The project is being planned by the country’s Roads and Highways Department (RHD). A new highway project is planned for Colombia, which will be designed and constructed under a PPP concession. The Colombian Government awarded the project to Grupo Odinsa. This will be the country’s second PPP highway project and is expected to cost in the region of US$513 million to construct.
