Plans are being drawn up in Colombia for a number of new tertiary roads in Valle del Cauca Department. A new highway will be built in Valle del Cauca department, while a new road will improve connections between Mulalo and Loboguerrero.
Work on the Taveta-Voi road link connecting Kenya and Tanzania is now being planned. The African Development Bank is providing a loan worth US$113 million. The work includes widening and improving a 42km bypass at Arusha and upgrades to a 115km section of road between Holili and Arusha. This package of works is due for completion by 2018. The authorities in Indonesia have set out extensive plans to source funding for new tolled highways. In all seven highway projects have been identified as crucial to expanding the network and improving connectivity for the Indonesian islands of Sulawesi, Java and Sumatra. Some US$25 billion in loans from overseas has been sourced by the Public Works Ministry of Indonesia.
A new dual carriageway is planned for Nigeria’s Cross River State, in the South East of the country. The dual carriageway will connect the city of Calabar in the south of the state with Obudu in the north of the state. The project has had its official ground breaking ceremony carried out by the country’s president, Muhammadu Buhari.
