Plans are being drawn up in Colombia for a number of new tertiary roads in Valle del Cauca Department. A new highway will be built in Valle del Cauca department, while a new road will improve connections between Mulalo and Loboguerrero.
Panama’s Ministry of Public Works (MOP) is spending some US$2.96 billion during its present administration on infrastructure projects. These include the construction of a fourth bridge over the Panama Canal, which will link the Albrook district and the North Corridor. There are four road widening projects planned. The link between the Las Americas bridge and Arraijan will be expanded to eight lanes and the Panamericana road between La Chorrera and San Carlos will be expanded to six lanes. The Omar Torrijos
Plans have been unveiled for a proposed road upgrade project in Scotland. These plans show the preferred route for the upgrade to the A96 between Nairn and Fochabers, towns which lie to the east of Inverness on Scotland’s North East coast. The project is being planned by Transport Scotland and will see the 45km road section being upgraded to dual carriageway status.
The work will include building new crossings over the Aberdeen to Inverness rail links, as well as over the Spey, Findhorn and Lossie rivers.
The Australian Government is on track with its US$37 billion (A$42 billion) stimulus plan, announced in January 2009. The country's Federal Government has approved over 49,000 infrastructure and construction projects in all, including a number of key highway projects.
