Colombia's National Infrastructure Agency (ANI) says that 10 projects are being carried out entirely with private funding. In addition, over the last seven years, 48km of tunnels and 430 bridges have been built in Colombia.

A 10-year loan of $550 million will fund the Villavicencio-Yopal highway project. The loan will pay for the completion of the route and is coming from the Colombian financial holding Grupo Aval. The 266km highway is being constructed by the Concesionaria Vial del Oriente consortium. The project forms part of the second wave of the Colombian Government's fourth generation (4G) road development scheme.
