Driving work for Colombia’s Occidente tunnel project is running ahead of schedule. The tunnel drive is now expected to be compete during August 2020, two months ahead of the original timeline.

The Occidente Tunnel forms part of the Autopista al Mar 1 Highway project, itself well underway.

Meanwhile, good progress is also being seen with the construction of the Chirajara-Fundadores stretch of the Bogota-Villavicencio road project. This is also running ahead of schedule, with now underway again using appropriate social distancing measures to ensure personnel safety.

Work is also being carried out on the rebuilding of the Chirajara Bridge, which collapsed in January 2018. If the timeline remains on track, the bridge should be ready for traffic in 2024.
