Colombia road project delayed

Delays are afflicting work on the Zaragoza-Caucasia road upgrade project in Colombia. The work was originally due for completion in December 2018 but is now being finished in the second quarter of 2019. Vandalism to 21 construction machines on the project are the prime cause for the delay. New security measures have been put in place to prevent a recurrence. Delays are afflicting work on the Zaragoza-Caucasia road upgrade project in Colombia. The work was originally due for completion in December 2018 but is now being finished in the second quarter of 2019. Vandalism to 21 construction machines on the project are the prime cause for the delay. New security measures have been put in place to prevent a recurrence. The project involves resurfacing the road stretch as well as building two new intersections and a bypass loop. The work forms part of the US$139 million, 145km Conexion Norte fourth generation (4G) road project.

  • Bidding opens for Israel highway upgrade

    Bidding is now open for a key new highway connection in Israel. The tender is for upgrade work on the Tel Aviv-Jerusalem Highway Road 1. Israel National Roads Co (INRC) is upgrading this key link and the tender is for the second stretch of work. So far, INRC received three bids for the contract. The project involves the construction of an interchange at the Neve Ilan intersection.     Plans are in hand for major upgrades to Russia’s road network. Russian Highways (Avtodor) aims to construct 958km of roads, as well as to reconstruct 963km of road and improve 700km of road bed by 2019. The 684km M11 highway linking Moscow with St Petersburg is the top-priority. A 72km bypass road will be built in the Tver region.
