Colombia bridge connection completion

A key bridge connection project has now been completed in Colombia. The work forms part of the construction activity on the Magangue to La Bodega route. The new link connects the 1km long Santa Lucia Bridge with the 2.3km long Roncador Bridge, the latter being the longest bridge in Colombia and the fifth longest in Latin America.

A key bridge connection project has now been completed in Colombia. The work forms part of the construction activity on the Magangue to La Bodega route. The new link connects the 1km long Santa Lucia Bridge with the 2.3km long Roncador Bridge, the latter being the longest bridge in Colombia and the fifth longest in Latin America. The 12km Magangue to La Bodega road project is costing US$81.3 million and will provide a link between two of Colombia’s key routes, Troncal de Occidente and Ruta del Sol. Construction activity on the entire Magangue to La Bodega route should be complete during 2019, once the surfacing work has been finished.

    The excavation work for the new La Quiebra road tunnel link in Colombia is close to completion. The drive is being carried out from both ends of the tunnel and should meet by November 2019.     The first stage of a controversial Russian bridge project is now complete, with the link having been opened to use by cars and buses. The Kerch Strait bridge spans the Black Sea, connecting Russia’s Taman Peninsula in Krasnodar with Crimea, the latter having been controversially annexed by Russia from Ukraine in 2014.
