China's Ji'an city is investing an impressive US$11.88 billion in developing transportation during the 12th Five-Year Plan, while the Asian Development Bank (ADB) is offering a loan worth US$200 million to China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

China’s Ji'an city is investing an impressive US$11.88 billion in developing transportation during the 12th Five-Year Plan, while the Asian Development Bank (ADB) is offering a loan worth US$200 million to China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. In Ji'an city the projects include the construction of a 263km expressway as well as upgrades to 1,373km of provincial roads and 1,737km of tourist roads. This work will be carried out in the 2011-2015 period. The work also includes upgrades to 163 bridges, additional parking spaces, 16 logistics stations and four passenger hubs for road transportation, as well as new airport terminals, rail connections, a hydropower facility and a 265.5km canal. In the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, the ADB loan will be spent on road upgrades and construction work as well as for improvements to storm water and waste water facilities in Fangchenggang, Beihai and Qinzhou.

    The Asian Development Bank (ADB) is set to transfer the US$ 150 million second tranche of a loan for construction of Masally-Shorsulu highway in Azerbaijan.
