Chinese highway deals done

In China work is due to commence on a new highway connecting Zhong County to Wanzho. The 79km highway will be built by the Chongqing Expressway Group and will take four years to complete, at a cost of US$1.163 billion. The highway will carry two traffic lanes in either direction and will feature a design speed of 80km/h. In addition the link will have seven interchanges, one interchange hub, bridges measuring a total of 13km and 15 tunnels measuring a total of 17.6km. Meanwhile, Chongqing Expressway Group and CCCC First Highway Engineering are working as partners on the Chongqing section of a highway connecting Wanzhou to Lichuan in Hubei.

The 54.6km section measuring will take four years to complete and cost around $986 million. This highway will also feature a design with two lanes of traffic in either direction and a design speed of 80km/h.
