China’s US$3.85bn Ya'an-Kangding highway to be completed in 2017

The construction of China’s US$3.85 billion (CNY 23.59 billion) Ya'an-Kangding highway will be completed and put into operation during 2017. Meanwhile, the environmental impact assessment (EIA) report for the 133.97km highway project is said to have been completed.

    Plans are in hand for transport expansion in China. This includes major works in the Chinese provinces of Hubei and Hebei as well as the city of Yibin.     The route for new tunnel links for Slovakia’s D1 highway has been agreed. New tunnels now look set to be built on the 13.5km stretch between Turany and Hubova section of the D1 highway. This plan calls for the construction of the Korbelka and Havran tunnels at an estimated cost of €900 million.   • New highways for China’s Guizhou Province

    China’s Guizhou Province looks set to gain from a major new highway construction programme. A budget of close to US$24.9 billion has been set for the construction of 11 highways in Guizhou Province. One of the priority projects will be the construction of a new highway connecting Anshun with Duyun. In all the highways will measure a total length of around 1,000km. Guizhou Province currently has some 6,100km of highways.
