China’s Jiangsu Province invests in infrastructure

In China Jiangsu Province has set an impressive infrastructure budget. Some US$11.38 billion has been earmarked for transportation infrastructure projects during 2014. Of the total, $4.53 billion will be invested into road construction projects, while some $454.8 million will be targeted at the construction of civil airports.

    In China's Gansu province, the city of Lanzhou has earmarked US$10.92 billion in the next six years. The rural road network of Lanzhou will be expanded from 6,616km to 9,013km, while highways will be expanded from 354km to 614km. Lanzhou will also boost its general national and provincial roads from 759km to 1,627km.     China’s Guizhou Province is setting out a massive budget for road expansion to boost access to rural areas. This will see the construction of some 50,000km of roads in 2018. In all US$3.15 billion is being spent on road development. So far 35,000km of road projects are underway in Guizhou Province with nearly 9,400km of road jobs already having been completed.
