Chile highway project delayed for investigation

Construction work on the Americo Vespucio Oriente (AVO) highway in Chile should start soon. This will commence once the environmental impact assessment has been completed. There has been a delay as the environmental impact assessment into the first section of the highway was halted. Allegations were made concerning irregularities over this portion of the work.

    Upgrade work to five sections of the D1 highway in the Czech Republic is due to commence in spring 2012. The first sections to be rebuilt are from are Sternov-Psare, Loket-Horice, Vetrny Jenikov-Jihlava, Lhotka-Velka Bites and Velka Bites-Devet Krizu.     An agreement has been made between the authorities in Thailand and Myanmar concerning a new bridge that will link the two countries. The bridge will span the Moei River.
