Brunei bridge being built

Work is progressing on the major Temburong Bridge project in Brunei. This bridge will measure nearly 12km in length, with the work being handled by a series of contractors. Both the Chinese contractor China State Construction Engineering Corporation Limited (CSCEC) and the South Korean firm Daelim Industrial are involved in the project. Work being carried out also includes the construction of two viaducts measuring 13.4km. The link is expected to open to traffic in 2019.

    In Ethiopia the construction of two new road links will be carried out by Chinese and Spanish contractors. The Ethiopia Roads Authority (ERA) awarded a contract worth close to US$48 million to Hunan Huanda Road and Bridge Corporation of China to build a 48.3km road in the south of the country. The work will take 29 months to complete. Two Spanish firms meanwhile will work together to carry out a $60.6 million contract in Ethiopia’s Oromia State. This project is for a 63km road connecting Ambo with Walliso.

    Louis Berger has been awarded the management contract for the Versova-Bandra Sea Link project in India. The US$17 million project management services deal was awarded to the firm by the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC).     In the Philippines a plan is taking shape for a major new connection between key tolled highways. The new road will link the South Luzon Expressway with the North Luzon Expressway (NLEx). The route has been planned by the Toll Regulatory Board (TRB) and the Philippine National Construction (PNCC). The new road connection will measure 13.4km long and will be a four-lane expressway.
