Bruce Highway in Australia sees upgrade

Plans are now in hand to upgrade and straighten the Bruce Highway over the Cardwell Ridge in Australia. The US$102.45 million (A$115 million) project will be handled jointly by a team comprising consulting engineer, SMEC Australia and Abigroup Contractors.

RSSPlans are now in hand to upgrade and straighten the Bruce Highway over the Cardwell Ridge in Australia. The US$102.45 million (A$115 million) project will be handled jointly by a team comprising consulting engineer, 1326 SMEC Australia and 1362 Abigroup Contractors. The project is due for completion at the end of 2012 and the work includes realigning the highway to straighten out existing curves, building an overpass at the Rungoo railway crossing and adding extra lanes on gradients for slow moving heavy vehicles.
