Bridge inspection unit key to maintenance

A new bridge inspection unit is carrying out vital work in Vietnam.

The Barin Bridge inspection unit is playing a key role in ensuring inspection and maintenance on Vietnam's Cuu Long (Can Tho) bridge, which measures some 2.75km long by 23.1m wide
RSSA new bridge inspection unit is carrying out vital work in Vietnam.

Built by 1481 Barin in Italy, the AB16/S machine has been mounted on a 2394 Volvo FMII 6x2 chassis.

The inspection unit features a bucket type platform with a 300kg load, which can be used both under a bridge and for overhead work. It offers a 16m maximum underbridge reach and a maximum overhead reach of 18.7m.

Maximum vertical depth underbridge is 20m while the unit can overcome bridge barriers up to 4m high and clear pedestrian walkways 4.1m wide.

    Italian company Barin has supplied bridge inspection equipment in China. The model ABC 60/l belongs to the automatic bridge control range and the deal was handled by Barin’s distributor company in Hong Kong, New Motion. The skid unit machine, mounted on a two-axle Nissan truck chassis, was shipped in a container in pieces and then reassembled locally. The unit, made of aluminium alloy, is an underbridge platform-type machine with a maximum undebridge working length of 6m, and has a total payload of 300kg.
