Bosnia-Serbia bridge and highway connection

A highway upgrade construction agreement has been signed by the Bosnian Government and Serbian Government.

Plans are now going to be drawn up for the M18 highway upgrade project connecting Serbian capital Belgrade with Bosnian capital Sarajevo. The project will also include the construction of a bridge spanning the Sava River connecting the Raca border crossing with Sremska.

Serbia's national state owned highway company, Koridori Srbije, has awarded the contract for advisory services for the €1.9 billion Corridor 10 project to French company Egis International. Under the terms of the deal Egis will provide support for construction of 83.4km of the E-80 highway between the City of Nis and the Bulgarian border at Dimitrovgrad.

    Plans are moving forward for a new highway that will link Kosovo’s capital Pristina with Belgrade, the capital of neighbouring Serbia. The project is of importance as it reveals the continued improvement in diplomatic relations between Serbia and Kosovo. Serbia’s Ministry of Construction says that work on the route will commence in the first half 2017. The financing model for the project has yet to be established.     Serbia has entered into “in depth” negotiations with two Chinese companies for concession contracts along the Corridor 11 motorway between Belgrade and the Montenegrin border.
