Bosnia-Serbia bridge and highway connection

A highway upgrade construction agreement has been signed by the Bosnian Government and Serbian Government.

Plans are now going to be drawn up for the M18 highway upgrade project connecting Serbian capital Belgrade with Bosnian capital Sarajevo. The project will also include the construction of a bridge spanning the Sava River connecting the Raca border crossing with Sremska.

    A consortium led by Porr Technobau und Umwelt of Austria has launched the construction phase of the E88 million bridge over the Sava river in Belgrade. The six-lane bridge will be 929m long, and also have two light railway lines. Slovenian company SCT and DSD Bruckenbau of Germany make up the rest of the consortium.     Serbia’s Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure has approved a merger between the public-owned roads companies Putevi Srbije (Roads of Serbia) and Koridori Srbije (Corridors of Serbia). Putevi Srbije maintains roads while Koridori focuses on construction planning and project management, including expropriation of land.
