Bolivian Government to invest US$129.3mn in Moxos-Trinidad road

A project to improve Bolivia’s existing 77.8km road between San Ignacio de Moxos and Trinidad will cost US$129.3 million, the government has announced. The project includes a 1.7km bridge over Mamore river. The first areas of work will involve the road between San Ignacio de Moxos and Puerto Ganadero. A project to improve Bolivia’s existing 77.8km road between San Ignacio de Moxos and Trinidad will cost US$129.3 million, the government has announced. The project includes a 1.7km bridge over Mamore river. The first areas of work will involve the road between San Ignacio de Moxos and Puerto Ganadero. This section will cost US$84 million and will be improved by ABC. Euroestudios-CPS Belmonte has signed a US$2.2 million contract with ABC for studies on the future Mamore river bridge. The cost of the bridge has been estimated at around $43 million.

Elsewhere in Bolivia, the government of La Paz has signed a contract with Bolivian-Colombian consortium Consorcio Puente Gemelo for the construction of the Puente Gemelo de las Americas bridge. Construction works will begin on 18 November 2013 and are due to reach completion on 29 April 2015. The project will be financed with funds from the La Paz council as well as a loan from the Latin 4900 American Development Bank (CAF). The new bridge will be the longest in the city spanning 213m.
