Bolivia highway upgrade project planned

Work on a new dual lane highway connecting La Paz with Santa Cruz in Bolivia is set to cost US$1 billion. The work will be complete by 2019 and the route will link La Paz with Santa Cruz, running through Cochabamba. Work on a new dual lane highway connecting La Paz with Santa Cruz in Bolivia is set to cost US$1 billion. The work will be complete by 2019 and the route will link La Paz with Santa Cruz, running through Cochabamba. The Bolivian Ministry of Public Works says that this project will be carried out in addition to previous developments to the road system between La Paz and Oruro. The project to connect different regions includes the 28km double lane highway for El Sillar, as well as tunnels and viaducts. This stretch is being carried out by Chinese firm Sinohydro and the $426 million deal was signed in October 2015.

    Proposals have been put forward for an innovative elevated highway stretch in the Philippines. The proposed route would run from the Delpan Bridge in the capital Manila, across the Pasig River and on to the Napindan Bridge in Taguig. The plans have been suggested by the construction firm AKH General Contractor.   • Interest strong for Colombia key tunnel project

    Interest is strong in the project to complete Colombia’s key tunnel construction contract. In all 23 firms have shown interest in the package of works to complete the La Linea tunnel project, according to the Colombian national road institute (Invias). The Colombian Government is providing US$204.5 million to complete the project.     Sacyr subsidiary Sacyr Concesiones is leading a consortium to will build and operate the Road 2 and Road 7 routes in Paraguay. The Road 2 route will connect Asunción and Coronel Oviedo. Meanwhile the Road 7 route will run from Coronel Oviedo to Caaguazú. Construction is expected to cost US$520 million with the concession package being for a period of 30 years.
