The preferred bidder has been selected for a key Australian tunnel contract.
The preferred bidder has been selected for the North East Link Tunnel project in Victoria State. The Spark consortium, headed by the Italian contractor WeBuild, is the preferred contractor for the work.
The project involves lengthening two tunnels by 2km. The two tunnels carry three lanes in either direction. The work is expected to cost US$5.31 billion (A$7 billion). The design work for the project has to be completed.
