Australian project design work awarded

The design work for a major Australian project has been awarded.

The specialist firms AECOM and Arcadis are to handle the design work for Australia’s Gateway Road Project. The two companies are establishing a joint venture to undertake the work.

Building the 5km link is expected to cost US$1.93 billion. The project will link Sydney Airport with Port Botany and the St Peters Interchange. The new route will help improve traffic flow and safety around Sydney and it will be able to carry the heavy truck traffic that currently adds to localised congestion in urban areas around the city. Importantly, the route will also improve traffic flow to and from Sydney’s international airport.
